In December 6th 2008's New York Times is the story of a woman who had her midwife provoke her birth, ahead of term obviously, how much is not said... can we tell by looking at the baby?, so that she could profit from her failing employer's comprehensive health care program...the baby was expelled (to use the French, phase d'expulsion) surely more in line with an artificially propelled birth than a natural one, and her company failed, she is unemployed, and then, to top off the end of the year cake, her insurer refused to pay for the birth, that's 17K$ in unpayable - for the time being - medical expenses. Don't you hope the President elect will help remedy this particularly gruesome state of affairs where people are forced to run their bodies through the wringer in hopes of benefiting from their company's health plan, in this case haste was paramount since the company was going to do a Chapter 11 bankruptcy declaration, or rather people force this on themselves rather than facing the uncertainties of no insurance...

thanks to science, a few earnest scientists, a little time and statistical assays, we know now that vitamins, vitamin supplements that is, are not necessarily good for you and may even do you harm. Too much of something good - vitamins are good for you or else we wouldn't have been stuffing them in breakfast cereals for the last fifty years - and then again...anyway things do not appear to be turning out well for the vitaman and woman. The present dying off generation is not living as long as its parents. This may well be due to the drop in interior hygiene. Interior hygiene is what you put inside your body. The last fifty years have seen unprecedented tonnages of crap being stuffed through our digestive systems. Yes, I am talking about fast and frozen food. Since sitting down to eat is equivalent to sinful waste of time, we spend that saved time driving to fast food outlets to eat industrial ware whose taste has little to do with the product of origin and a lot to do with the condiments and sauces from the boys and girls in New Jersey who can synthesize any taste in the world except good.
And then Science will argue that McDonald's is good for your health. If you are eating neath the Golden Arches you can't be robbing a bank or otherwise committing a felony or damnable offense more grievous than the rapacious fantasies running through your noggin...It's a safe place like those cities in Judaea where men and women escaping vengeance and punishment of all forms could come for refuge. The Golden Arches as places of refuge from the temptation to do awful things except, of course, destroying your internal hygien...

I have come back to writing after three years of silence.
We are happy about the election.
The President-elect knows how to surround himself with accomplished people.
Witness the whole election process.
Very few slip ups.
Now the real work begins.
He wants change.
Will we be able to change with him?
